RCIT - Rite of Christian Initiation for Teens

Please find here all the information you need to prepare your children to celebrate the sacraments of Baptism, Reconciliation (also known as Confession or Penance), and/or first Communion (or first Eucharist) apart from our regular faith formation track (RCIT).
The chart below helps explain what the preparation looks like, depending on what grade your child is in when s/he comes to us seeking the sacraments. Per the Diocese, sacramental preparation is a two year process for minors - both for the first sacraments and Confirmation (in some cases this can happen at the same time). The RCIT 1 year is composed of grade level regular faith formation. After attending for half a year, families may approach for the sacrament of Baptism. RCIT 2 year has students in regular faith formation classes with celebration of first sacraments (Reconciliation and Eucharist) in the spring. Regular sacramental preparation for Confirmation occurs in 7th & 8th grade, so if students are caught up on first sacraments, they will enter the regular track in 7th grade; otherwise, preparation will occur based on registration history.

For those of you whose students are enrolled in RCIT 2 and will receive their respective sacraments this spring, please use the resources on this page to be prepared. I've tried to keep the formation simple, but comprehensive. For each, I've added recommended resources for your further formation. Please reach out with any questions. For Baptism, it involves contacting the office and attending a short (1-2 hours) course. For first sacraments, please watch the two required YouTube videos and complete the two worksheets. I am so excited for this part of your faith journey and am so blessed to walk with you. You are in my prayers!

Encuentre aquí toda la información que necesita para preparar a sus hijos para celebrar los sacramentos del Bautismo, la Reconciliación (también conocida como Confesión o Penitencia) y/o la Primera Comunión (o la Primera Eucaristía) además de nuestra vía regular de formación en la fe (RCIT).
El cuadro a continuación ayuda a explicar cómo es la preparación, según el grado en el que esté su hijo cuando acuda a nosotros en busca de los sacramentos. Según la Diócesis, la preparación sacramental es un proceso de dos años para menores, tanto para los primeros sacramentos como para la Confirmación (en algunos casos, esto puede suceder al mismo tiempo). El RCIT de 1 año se compone de formación en la fe regular a nivel de grado. Después de asistir durante medio año, las familias pueden acercarse para el sacramento del Bautismo. RCIT 2 año tiene estudiantes en clases regulares de formación en la fe con celebración de primeros sacramentos (Reconciliación y Eucaristía) en la primavera. La preparación sacramental regular para la Confirmación ocurre en los grados 7 y 8, por lo que si los estudiantes se ponen al día con los primeros sacramentos, ingresarán al camino regular en el grado 7; de lo contrario, la preparación se realizará en función del historial de registro. ​
Para aquellos de ustedes cuyos estudiantes están inscritos en RCIT 2 y recibirán sus respectivos sacramentos esta primavera, usen los recursos en esta página para estar preparados. Preparing for the Sacrament of Baptism
Once your child has attended grade level faith formation classes for half a year, they are formed enough to choose Baptism! At the start of the second semester, you can reach out to the front office to schedule the Baptism and register for a single preparation class for parents (children welcomed). The class is facilitated on the 3rd Sunday of the month by Kathy McKinney.

Una vez que su hijo haya asistido a clases de formación en la fe de nivel de grado durante medio año, ¡están lo suficientemente formados como para elegir el bautismo! Al comienzo del segundo semestre, puede comunicarse con la oficina principal para programar el bautismo y registrarse para una clase de preparación de dos partes para padres (los niños son bienvenidos).
